Australia and New Zealand complete Rhythmic World Championships campaign

Australia and New Zealand have completed their campaigns at the 42nd Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Frankfurt, Germany, competing as part of a record international field.
The Championships brought together 102 individual gymnasts and 42 groups from 78 nations, highlighting the strength and depth of Rhythmic Gymnastics around the world.
Australia’s Miyabi Akiya led the Oceania individual results, finishing 33rd in the All-Around qualification with a score of 77.800. New Zealand’s Havana Hopman finished 40th with 76.050, while Australia’s Sofia Hemmings placed 50th with 74.050.
Australia was also represented the Group Competition finishing 39th.
With the World Championships now complete, attention turns to the continued development of Rhythmic Gymnastics across Oceania.

Save the date: OGU Rhythmic Gymnastics Continental Camp
The Oceania Gymnastics Union will host a Rhythmic Gymnastics Continental Camp from 7–11 December 2026 at the State Gymnastics Centre in Windsor, Melbourne, Victoria.
The camp will bring together gymnasts from across the region and feature expert international coaches, with opportunities for Senior, Junior and Pre-Junior gymnasts at Development and Performance levels.
