Oceania Gymnastics Union (OGU) congratulates its President, Kitty Chiller AM OLY, on her admission as a Life Member of the Australian Olympic Committee in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Olympic Movement and sport. A significant honour for sport in Australia.

Across her time with OGU, spanning two terms as President (2018–2023 and from 2025-Present), Kitty has strengthened connection and a sense of belonging across Oceania’s gymnastics community. Her leadership has brought Member Federations together, supported shared learning and created a more coordinated regional approach to growing the sport. This has included welcoming three new federations and supporting the growth of gymnastics in emerging communities.

Her work has contributed to a stronger and more connected region, with greater collaboration between countries and more nations now competing internationally. She has also helped increase the visibility of gymnastics across Oceania by enabling leaders to experience the sport firsthand in emerging federations such as Fiji, creating stronger pathways for communities to participate in and benefit from gymnastics.

“Kitty has made a meaningful contribution to the growth of gymnastics across Oceania, particularly in supporting our emerging and developing federations,” said Alice Stooke, Secretary General, OGU.

“This recognition reflects a lifetime committed to sport and to creating more opportunities for people to be active and involved.”

At an international level, Kitty continues to play an important role in shaping the future of gymnastics. She’s currently serving her second term on the Executive Committee of World Gymnastics, having previously held the role from 2018 to 2023. Through this work, she has helped ensure Oceania has a strong and respected voice in global decision making.

Her broader contribution to sport has also been recognised by the International Olympic Committee. In 2020, she received the IOC Women and Sport Award for Oceania for her work advancing gender equality, and from 2017 to 2023 she served on the IOC Athlete’s Entourage Commission, where she consistently supported athlete wellbeing and strong sporting systems.

On behalf of OGU and our Member Federations, we congratulate Kitty on this wonderful and well-deserved achievement.
