Samoa and Vanuatu officially welcomed to World Gymnastics

As World Gymnastics Member Federations gather in Bangkok, Thailand, for the World Gymnastics Congress, OGU is thrilled to officially welcome Gymnastics Samoa and Vanuatu Gymnastics as our newest affiliated members.
Both federations were unanimously voted in by the Executive Board and Member Federations after successfully fulfilling all international compliance requirements.
OGU President Kitty Chiller AM said the milestone was an important moment for both federations.
“Seeing Samoa and Vanuatu granted Member Federation status is an incredibly proud moment. Both have worked hard to establish and grow gymnastics in their countries, and this recognition reflects the dedication of the many people who have helped make that possible.”
Gymnastics Samoa President Sopolemalama Tuitama-Alsop said the affiliation represented an important step forward for gymnastics in Samoa.
“This is a very proud moment for Gymnastics Samoa. As a young federation, reaching full affiliation with World Gymnastics represents not only recognition of the work we have undertaken to establish and develop gymnastics in Samoa, but also an exciting opportunity for the future of our sport.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Oceania Gymnastics Union and World Gymnastics for their support and guidance throughout this journey, and we look forward to continuing to grow gymnastics in Samoa and contributing to the wider gymnastics community across Oceania.”
The affiliation marks an exciting new chapter for gymnastics in Samoa and Vanuatu and creates new opportunities for athletes, coaches and officials as the sport continues to grow.
