The 2026 Oceania Artistic Gymnastics Championships are set to take over Brisbane this weekend, with Australia and New Zealand going head-to-head in one of the most important events on the Oceania calendar.
Held at the Sleeman Sports Complex, the Championships will feature both Junior and Senior competition across Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, with athletes competing not only for Oceania titles, but for valuable international qualification opportunities.
World Championships qualification on the line
There is plenty at stake across the weekend, with qualification for the 2026 World Championships adding extra significance to the competition.
The Championships form an important part of the pathway toward international competition, with athletes looking to deliver strong performances on the Oceania stage.
Olympians, returning stars and rising talent
Fans can expect to see a mix of experienced international athletes and emerging young gymnasts across the competition.
Australia’s team includes Olympians Georgia Godwin, Jesse Moore and Emily Whitehead, with Whitehead returning to international competition following injury. Godwin will also make a highly anticipated return to competition following her Achilles injury.
New Zealand’s Courtney McGregor continues her return to international competition after previously retiring from the sport in 2020, adding another compelling storyline to the Championships.
Alongside the senior athletes, the event also provides an opportunity to see the next generation of Oceania gymnasts in action through the Junior Championships.
More than just competition
Beyond the competition floor, the Championships will also celebrate the wider Oceania gymnastics community, bringing together athletes, coaches, officials and supporters from across the region.
Fans attending the event can expect a full championship atmosphere across the weekend, while those unable to attend can follow results and performances through Elevien.
