Australia secures top-eight finish at Aerobic World Championships

Australia has capped off the 19th Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships in Pamplona, Spain, with an eighth-place finish in the Aerobic Dance final.

The team of Lindsay Ang, Jessica Cronin, Chloe Holmes, Estelle McLeod, MacKenzie Manev, Amber Pavendranathan, Carissa Uno and Zoe Yates qualified for the final in eighth position with a score of 16.400.

Taking on the world’s best in the final, the team improved its score to 16.600 to finish eighth overall.

Australia also recorded a strong result in the Group competition, with Chloe Holmes, Amelia O’Neill, Isabella O’Neill, Amber Pavendranathan and Carissa Uno finishing 14th with a score of 17.688.

In the Trio competition, Amelia O’Neill, Isabella O’Neill and Amber Pavendranathan finished 25th, while Isabella O’Neill led the Australian results in the Individual Women competition, finishing 48th ahead of Carissa Uno in 52nd and Amelia O’Neill in 54th.

The Championships brought together athletes from across the world for three days of competition, with Australia representing the Oceania region across Individual Women, Trio, Group and Aerobic Dance.
